Both of those solutions boil down to money. Naturally for many in a 128-player draw that first round prize money is a big deal which is why they will show up to play even if they go in knowing they are unfit and may have to pull the plug mid-match. As a concession to that driving factor players will now be allowed to collect fifty percent if they withdraw after noon on site on Thursday but before the main draw begins. Coupled with this players who are knowingly unfit to play and still opt to compete could face a fine up to the total amount of their first-round prize money if they fail to finish the match or “perform below professional standards.” Together these two rules should encourage players to make the smart choice and subsequently improve the overall optics of the sport.
The Heritage collection has evolved to feature a new set of styles for the start of the season. The Heritage offerings continue to utilize the brand’s Iconic red white and navy palette with archival design details like stripes color blocking and pleats. Classic silhouettes feel ultra-now with pieces such as the loose layering practice tank slim fit pant and striped pleated skort. Updated proportions include a long cropped fit on the Heritage Jacket and fresh details like a large FILA outline print. The collection’s premium plus jersey fabrications make for premier texture throughout. The Heritage styles will be worn by FILA players including Karolina Pliskova currently ranked #6 on the WTA Tour.
Extra string: It happens. Strings break sometimes quicker than you might think. It's always good to keep an extra set or two (or maybe even a reel) of your favorite string that you can take to a local stringer to get your racquet re-strung when you're in a pinch.
Racquets (2-4): You obviously aren't getting too far in a match without these. However many people DON'T bring back up racquets in case something happens to the first one out of the bag. Your strings could break the racquet could slip out of your hand and crack your grip could get worn and slippery...if any of these things happen you should always have another racquet to pull out of the bag.
